Indiana Coalition Against Domestic

2010 Empowerment Awards
During our 30th Anniversary Gala, Night
and Day: Bringing Light into the Darkness, the Indiana Coalition Against
Domestic Violence will present Empowerment Awards to acknowledge any
individual and/or organization that has made a significant contribution toward
the elimination of domestic violence. Award
categories:
- Legislative Leadership
- Business/Civic/Community
- Education
- Public Awareness
Award Criteria: Legislative Leadership: Nominee has sponsored or
advocated legislation that has positively affected the lives of domestic
violence victims.
Business/Civic/Community Award: Nominee has developed
or provided an activity or program that raised awareness in the community or in
the workplace, or assisted employees in the workplace.
Education: Nominee has
developed or implemented a domestic violence educational program. Examples
could be a program at a congregation, school, college or a medical setting.
Public Awareness: Nominee
has made a contribution through radio, TV or print media that demonstrated
compassion and sensitivity to victims of domestic violence, or has provided a
story that helped inform victims of available resources or changes in domestic
violence laws.
The Submission
Process: You may download a Nomination Form
here, (Adobe Acrobat format), fill it out and return it to Bridgett
Morales, Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1915 W. 18th
Street, Suite B, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Submissions may also be e-mailed to
bmorales@violenceresource.org. Submissions should not exceed
five pages with supporting materials, such as letters, newspaper clippings,
etc. All entries must be received by Monday, August 2, 2010.
Awardees will be chosen by the
Nominating Review Committee consisting of the ICADV PR Committee, the ICADV
Executive Director, and the Associate Director. The winner and the nominators
will be notified in early September and the awards will be presented at the
30th Anniversary Gala, September 11, 2010.
