ICADV Committees

  1. Membership Committee: Responsible for keeping current and overseeing the implementation of the membership recruitment plan and fee schedule; facilitating the development of benefits and services for members; serving as a liaison between Membership and the Board; and recommending and supervising any policies necessary to sustain, support, and increase the membership of ICADV.

    • Women in Prison Task Force: The Women in Prison task force is a subcommittee of the ICADV Membership Committee and its purpose is to provide resources and support to women serving time for domestic violence related offenses, analyze such sentences for men and women to determine any disparity, and select specialized cases to assist with pardons or clemency.

    • Engaging Men: The purpose of the ICADV Men's Engagement Working Group is to engage men state-wide in working to respond to and prevent domestic violence. The Men's Engagement Working Group achieves this goal through several strategies: developing programming to engage men state-wide; providing technical assistance to local agencies, organizations and coalitions about effectively educating and engaging men; and developing resources and programming to assist local programs in their efforts to engage men It is the belief of ICADV that the best way to achieve our goals of responding effectively to and preventing domestic violence requires men to be integrally involved. This means working with local programs to assist them in their efforts to educate men, developing projects and programming on the local and state-levels that effectively engage men, and ensuring that men are involved in multiple aspects of domestic violence response and prevention at both the local and state-wide levels.

    • Batterers' Intervention Program Standards Committee: Responsible for establishing and amending minimum statewide standards for Batterers' Intervention Programs, monitoring compliance of standards, and developing and conducting statewide training.

  2. Legislative Committee: Responsible for advocating for appropriate legislative reform consistent with the Coalition’s mission, communicating with members on legislative matters and drafting the Coalition’s legislative agenda for Board consideration.

  3. Finance Committee: Responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including but not limited to, overseeing the development of the budget and annual revenues/expenditures; recommending and monitoring fiscal policies and procedures; and supervising the annual audit.

  4. Resource Development Committee: Responsible for ensuring the future financial health of the organization by continuously developing short and long term resource development strategies; educating directors, staff and volunteers about their respective roles and responsibilities; overseeing the implementation of plans; and recommending and supervising any policies necessary to ensure that all activities, associations and contributions are directed toward and consistent with the mission, values, philosophy, and ethics of the organization.

    • Public Relations Committee: To guide, approve, develop and implement a comprehensive awareness campaign; coordinate public awareness events; disseminate educational resource materials; publicize ICADV services to the general public.

    • Special Events Committee: Responsible for defining, developing, and planning various special events each year which serve to raise awareness of ICADV and domestic violence; and to raise funds which enable ICADV to meet it's mission of eliminating domestic violence in Indiana.
