The Indiana Coalition
Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) and our Honorary Chairs invite you to
join us in celebrating 30 years of providing services to victims of domestic
violence in Indiana. In honor of this important anniversary, ICADV will host a
gala on Saturday, September 11th from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. at the Oak Hill Mansion
in Carmel. Our event theme, Night And Day: Bringing Light into the Darkness
symbolizes the daily struggle victims face and the continued efforts by ICADV
in providing services and promoting safety throughout Indiana.
In the last 30 years, we have seen
tremendous progress; here are a few highlights: in 1994, Congress passed the
Violence Against Women Act. In 2001 ICADV adopted statewide Batterers'
Intervention Program Standards and began certifying programs statewide. In 2004
ICADV conducted its first annual Tenderness Tour Run, Walk and Roll event -
this continues as Race Away From Domestic Violence. In August 2007, ICADV
merged with the Protective Order Pro Bono Project of Greater Indianapolis, and
as we enter our 4th decade, we will continue to move forward to better serve
Hoosier families impacted by domestic violence.
The anniversary gala is open to the public
and will include great food, a silent auction, a specialty cake auction,
entertainment by Indiana's own Jennie DeVoe and a wine tasting provided by

ICADV will also present their annual
Empowerment Awards at this event. (Click here for
information about the Empowerment Awards. )These awards are given yearly to
acknowledge any individual and/or organization that has made a significant
contribution toward the elimination of domestic violence. Empowerment Awards
are presented for legislative leadership, education, business/civic/community
and public awareness.
